With the carefully accomplished essential complex insulation, conductor damping and shielding refinements the new Reference MkII IC far exceeds its predecessor - the highly acclaimed first generation of Reference IC. The Fiber Torsion Damping process - FTDA® within the Cable-Core, which is the foundation of the Reference range, has been modified with the SDB binding. Combined with the SATI® individual conductor insulation the SDB significantly decreases the relative permittivity and signal energy losses within the dielectric. Moreover, it improves the vibration damping of the conductor. The enhanced X-Shield® SE imported from the flagship Ultimate range provides superior EMI suppression especially at low frequencies and drastically reduces electro-dynamic noise generated in the shield, further extending the attainable dynamic range. We have used a unique thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) Elastollan® for jacketing. Developed exclusively by BASF, it exemplifies exceptional dielectric and vibration absorbing properties, which we also consider a key influence on performance. Fitted with the gleaming Reference V2 RCA & XLR plugs the Reference MkII IC is now a finely tuned state-of-the-art interconnect cable. It balances a breath-taking analytic definition with unfailingly precise, accurate timbre, tonal balance, transient impact and immediacy. It performs simply exceptionally, with meticulous attention to every subtlety, stunning analogue accuracy and remarkable neutrality.

Due to the cable construction complexity and excessive material consumption the initial burn-in period (time during which the best sonic performance is reached) is suggested as 100 hours of uninterrupted music playback at least. We highly recommend playing music of different genres.
